LIVE ON MISSION

"Whatever we do, we must not treat the Great Commission like it's the Great Suggestion." -Charles R. Swindoll

At Vidalia Cornerstone, we believe serving is one of the most powerful ways we live out our faith. Jesus didn’t call us to sit on the sidelines; He called us to go, love, and serve.

Sign Up Sunday is Coming!

At VCC, we believe God has gifted each of us to serve others and build up His Church. Serving is more than a task—it’s a way we walk faithfully with Christ, using our gifts to bless others and advance His Kingdom. Just as Jesus came to serve, we follow His example by humbly giving our time, talent, and heart for the good of the body. Below, you’ll find each Serve Team listed with a brief description of what’s involved. Sign-ups begin February 15th on Next Steps—we can’t wait to see how God will use you!

  • Care for our most precious attenders – providing a safe, loving, trusted environment so that moms and dads can attend worship, Sunday school, and groups. Opportunities to serve on Sundays, Wednesdays, and other special events.

  • Help kids grow in their love of God through hands-on learning and small group connection. Serve alongside our team to provide support and guide lessons as you are ready. Opportunities to serve on Sundays, Wednesdays, and other special events.

  • Be on the front lines to identify and host those who are new to VCC. Greet at the “New Here?” tent, host baptisms, and help with special events.

  • Work with the team that stands watch during all worship times and large gatherings. Keep our campus safe! Safe from those who might want to do harm. Safe for those who might suffer physical ailments while here. Beginning training required and extensive training offered.

  • Help bring worship to life by running audio, visual, and lighting content live during both worship services and at special events. Not scared of technology – jump in! Training provided.

  • This is more than just handing out bulletins. As a greeter, you will help people encounter Jesus as you communicate God’s love and joy. Help with bulletins, information tables, kids’ check-in, seating people, and the offering. Meet to pray and prepare 20 minutes before worship starts. Serve before and after worship at least once per month.

  • Serve behind the scenes to help create meaningful worship gathering through communion set-up, baptism support, special services, and seasonal decorations. If you are comfortable help with communion or other aspects of leading worship.

  • Help make traditional worship a place where people encounter the presence of God through music. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7:15PM and 10:45Am on Sundays.

  • Help organize and lead various mission and outreach projects with a team of fun and committed people. Stand on the front lines as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission through our work with local missions, foreign missions, and local outreach projects.

  • Capture the life of our church through photos and creative content. Take pictures during services and events and assist the Media Director with projects that will help tell the story of what God is doing here. Video or editing ability a plus!

  • Offer comfort and care by providing meals and encouragement for families experiencing loss or welcoming a new baby into the home. Help host at funerals and showers.

  • Help make sure our church is secure by working with a team to cover a week of night-time door pulling at the church. A simple task that keeps us safe and free from theft.

  • Serve our community through the ministry of Second Blessings. Help with sorting, organizing, assisting customers, and sharing the love of Jesus through everyday interactions. Second Blessings is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and other special events.

  • Volunteer at our daycare center to serve the students, teachers, and parents. There are various ways to serve. Direct interaction with children requires a background check, CPR certification, and other training.

  • Keep VCC facilities in tip-top shape through repair, maintenance, improvement, and cleaning projects. Assist Trustees with project management, quotes, and work oversight.

  • Help make our Wednesday Night Restore fellowship meal run smoothly. This involves setting out the food, preparing drinks, and welcoming people as they come in. This is a great way to serve!

Vidalia Cornerstone Church

Missions

At VCC, we believe God calls us not only to serve within our church walls but also to extend His love and resources beyond them. These are the ministries we support through prayer, giving, and hands-on involvement—partners who share our mission of making disciples, meeting needs, and sharing the hope of Christ. We are honored to walk alongside them as together we serve God’s Kingdom.

Volunteers play a vital role in the fulfillment of Imago Dei's mission. Because of our volunteers' hard work and dedication, we are able to provide continuous support to children in Toombs and surrounding counties. For more information, visit our website.
