The mission of our church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through Worship, Growing, and Serving.
Prayerfully consider this opportunity to read and study the Bible in a small, committed group and to be challenged in your discipleship. The studies being offered are as follows:
Theology & Doctrine- Foundations of the Christian Faith- Timothy Tennent
FOTCF is a 34 week study led by Pastor Jim Smith. Using this book, Pastor Jim will be teaching on many of our core doctrines: The Trinity, Baptism, The Lord's Prayer, The Lord's Supper, The Old Testament, The Ten Commandments, The Apostle's Creed, The Holy Spirit, Sanctification, Marriage and Family and much more.
Biblical Studies- Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study
Disciple I is a 34 week study in which Disciple groups move through the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. Disciple I covers 70% of the Bible. The Scripture for each session follows the chronological movement of the biblical story. Disciple aims at transformation, not just information. Disciple calls on persons to submit themselves to examination by Scripture, to put themselves under the power of God's word, and to be changed by God's word. Disciple I will be taught by Jose Caraballo. The cost of the book is $35.
What Love Is- Kelly Minter (Women's Group)
The letters of 1,2, & 3 John were written to encourage followers of Jesus to remain faithful to the truth. Believers are challenged to look at contrasting themes such as walking in the light instead of darkness, truth verses lies and deception, loving God more than loving the world, and the meaning of true fellowship and community rather than shallowness. This study reveals not only the heart of John but also the heart of Jesus. This study will be led by Diane Meeks.
Becoming a King- Morgan Snyder (Men's Group)
Becoming a King is an invitation into radical reconstruction of much of what we've come to believe about God, masculinity, and the meaning of life. Morgan shares his discovery of an ancient and reliable path to restoring and becoming the kind of man who can wield power for good. With examples from the lives of the great heroes of faith as well as wise men from Morgan's own life, break through doubt and discover the power of restoration. This study will be led by Fred Godbee.
