What We Believe

Vidalia Cornerstone's Core Values

WORSHIP- We Worship Together
Worship is our response to who God is and what He has done for us. We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and our lives are a response of gratitude and trust.
We believe worship is both personal and shared. When we gather together, we glorify God, encourage one another, and remind ourselves that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.
Our gatherings give us opportunities to encounter God through Scripture, prayer, singing, communion, baptism, and fellowship. These practices help us receive and respond to God’s grace as He draws us closer, saves us, and continues to shape us.

As a member of VCC, we commit to:

Worshiping with the church faithfully and consistently.
Participating in the life of our church community.
Growing in our relationship with God through prayer, Scripture, and other spiritual practices.
Offering our time, resources, and abilities as acts of worship.

Key Scriptures:
Hebrews 10:24–25 | Psalm 95:6 | Acts 2:42–47 | Ephesians 2:19–22

GROW- We Grow in Faith
Following Jesus is a lifelong journey. Salvation is not simply about being forgiven; God is continually transforming us to become more like Christ.
We believe spiritual growth happens as we intentionally pursue Jesus and allow His grace to shape every part of our lives. We do this through Scripture, prayer, worship, serving, and especially through relationships with other believers.
We were never meant to follow Jesus alone. Small groups, Sunday Small Groups, RESTORE, and other opportunities for community help us build relationships where we can be known, encouraged, challenged, and held accountable.

As a member of VCC, we commit to:

Pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus.
Engaging regularly with Scripture and prayer.
Participating in Christian community.
Being open to encouragement, accountability, and spiritual growth.
Helping others grow in their faith as we grow ourselves.

Key Scriptures:
Colossians 1:28 | Ephesians 4:11–16 | 2 Peter 3:18
SERVE- We Are Gifted for Ministry
Jesus calls His followers to serve others. We believe every person has been given gifts, abilities, experiences, and resources that God can use to make a difference.
Serving is not something reserved for pastors or church staff. Every believer has a place in ministry, and every act of service matters.
When we serve, we put our faith into action. We follow the example of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve. Serving also helps us discover how God has uniquely equipped us and allows us to strengthen His church and care for others.
At VCC, we want to be a church where people don't simply attend—they participate, contribute, and take ownership of the mission God has given us.

As a member of VCC, we commit to:

Discovering and using our God-given gifts.
Serving the church and the people around us.
Looking for opportunities to meet practical and spiritual needs.
Supporting the ministries of VCC through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
Remembering that no act of service is too small when it is done in Jesus’ name.

Key Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 12:12–27 | 1 Peter 4:10 | Romans 12:4–8
REACH- We Strive to Fulfill the Great Commission
The good news of Jesus is meant to be shared. The church does not exist only for the people already inside it; we are sent into our community and our world to help others know and follow Jesus.
Jesus calls us to love God, love our neighbors, make disciples, and be His witnesses. We believe that reaching others happens through both what we say and how we live. We share the gospel, serve people in practical ways, build relationships, care for our community, and support missions around the world.
Our goal is not simply to grow a church. Our goal is to help people encounter Jesus and become His followers.

As a member of VCC, we commit to:

Looking for opportunities to share the hope we have in Jesus.
Loving and serving the people around us.
Inviting others into the life of the church.
Supporting local, national, and global missions.
Living in a way that reflects the love of Christ.
Helping make disciples wherever God has placed us.

Key Scriptures:
Matthew 22:37–39 | Matthew 28:19–20 | 2 Corinthians 5:18–20 | Acts 1:8

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Vidalia Cornerstone Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Matthew 28:19

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Hebrews 1:1–3

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.
Genesis 1:26–28

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Genesis 3:1–24

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
Ephesians 2:8–9

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:18–20

Ressurection

Jesus Christ will one day return to make all things new, judge the living and the dead, and establish the fullness of God's kingdom forever.
Revelation 21:1–5
