The Refuge serves five rural counties: Toombs, Treutlen, Montgomery, Emanuel, and Wheeler. The Refuge is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that provides a safe emergency shelter and comprehensive services to victims and their children hurt by domestic violence and sexual

Forge is an in-patient recovery center that exists to restore men to freedom, hope, and purpose. Our 12-step program is designed to help men (18 years of age and older) who suffer from addiction, both chemical and behavioral. Our program is a 12-24 month community-based program that is focused on returning men to their families and society as productive and contributing members of their communities.

The Vaca's are a missionary family that Vidalia First UMC has supported for years. Laura and Jorge Vaca serve the World Gospel Mission (WGM). Laura was the director of Taylor Christian School, which provided a quality Christian education for children in the Rio Grande Valley. Unfortunately, the school was shut down as a consequence of COVID-19. Jorge is the field director for Texas/Mexico Border Ministries, teaches soccer, and ministers to the children he coaches.
